Following the sacred Yangdrup Chenmo at Kuenselphodrang, volunteers and members of the Kurukulle Tshogpa came together to clean the area, collecting litter and ensuring that the sacred grounds were left spotless.
This act of service reflects the noble tradition passed down from the Buddha himself, who, along with his closest disciples, would personally sweep and clean the assembly grounds. As the Buddha taught, cleaning one’s environment is not only about maintaining physical cleanliness but also about cultivating a pure and joyful mind.
Even without consciously generating virtuous thoughts, such acts bring great benefit by creating a pleasing environment for both humans and deities. But when done with joy, devotion, and the aspiration to benefit all beings, the merit multiplies beyond measure.
The efforts of the volunteers and Kurukulle Tshogpa members at Kuenselphodrang stand as a beautiful example of service in action—continuing the living tradition of care, respect, and devotion taught by the Buddha.
