Following the resolution passed during the 13th Dratshang meeting in 2019, the Chumey Choedaypung Dratshang was privileged to host numerous meetings over the years with distinguished public figures. Ani Khandro Tshedum Lhamo was the first guest of honor who in 2020 shared knowledge and valuable instructions to the members of the monastery. Since then, the Dratshang community have been honored to receive teachings from various respected Lamas and Lopens.
To uphold this significant tradition, we are thankful to Dasho Thrizin of the Bumthang local government for kindly accepting our invitation and visiting our monastery on 3rd February, 2022. During the the visit, Dasho gave valuable pieces of advice based on his life experiences and knowledge. He talked about the relevance and significance of Choe-sid ngyiden system (Dual system: Religion & Politics) to the Constitution of Bhutan. He also shared the vision of His Majesty the 4th King and discussed the four pillars of Gross National Happiness concept. Furthermore, Dasho stressed that though being a religious body, we should keep in mind the aspiration of His Majesty the King to strive for self sufficiency and being independent. Dasho also emphasized that all monks should follow religious principles, obey their teachers and lamas, and make their parents proud. He stressed how important it is for monks to develop themselves into individuals who can benefit and serve their lama and Dratshang.
The visit and the session of Dasho Thrizin was fruitful and enriching for all members of the monastery. Therefore, Kyabje Tang Rinpoche and the community of Chumey Choedaypung Dratshang would like to thank Dasho wholeheartedly for taking time out of his busy schedule and visiting us.
