To support the building of a new classroom in the Chodaypung Monastery, where monks and Rinpoche’s desciples could study the Dharma, the Larung Dewachen Australia Incorporated organised a lottery. 1764 (out of 1800 printed) tickets of 10 Australian Dollars were distributed for those wishing to participate in the lottery. The draw, initially planned on February 22, was postponed due to lockdown until March 27. Before the event, the organisers also prepared delicious food, including Tibetan momo, bathub, chilli chop, and other dishes, which was offered during the lottery party.
On Saturday evening, three main prizes (MacBook Air 256GB, iPHONE XR 64GB, and an iPAD 8th GEN 32GB) and three consolation prizes (APPLE AIRPODS) were offered to the winners. In this way, the organisation was able to collect resources which will substantially help in improving the monastery’s infrastructure. Everyone seemed to enjoy the event which was an opportunity to bring the Buddhist community together.
