Today, the Astra-Zeneca vaccines against COVID-19 have been delivered to the Chodeypung Monastery by health workers who were responsible for implementing the national programme. Prior to applying the vaccines, Kyabje Tang Rinpoche made special prayers to Sangye Menla to bless the medicines and the team of health workers. Like many vajrayana masters, Rinpoche meditated that the substance (vaccine) is transformed into Amrita, capable of purifying all obscurations and suffering. Then, while receiving the first dose, Rinpoche imagined that through this merit, all sentient beings are freed from suffering and enjoy ultimate happiness. All Rinpoche’s disciples are encouraged to maintain similar attitude, develop Bodhicitta, recite mantras and dedicate all merit for the benefit of all beings.
